I wanted to wait until it was almost official before posting about it here: I’m off to Sydney, Australia for 7 weeks this summer (which is their Winter but it never gets that cold there)! I’ll be doing a four week elective at the Sydney’s Children’s Hospital in the Gastroenterology department and then Amanda will join me in July for a 3 week holiday. We haven’t decided exactly what we’ll do and where we’ll go while there yet, but we’re definitely looking forward to it. The flights are all booked so I just need to finalize a place to stay during my elective time and I’ll be good to go!

Today I participated in an event called Head for a Cure. It was a fundraiser for cancer where people were sponsored to have their head shaved. It was an incredibly successful event that raised over $20,000 for a great cause. You can see a before and after here on the left. Although I’ve had my hair short in the past, it’s never been this short - it’s weird to feel a draft on my head! Thanks to everyone involved and to those who donated for a great day!
